Procedure for Updates

You can use odbc_exec to execute data modification statements. This will return a resource which contains the number of affected rows.

INSERT

To insert updates:

$result = odbc_exec($cnx, "INSERT INTO Accounts(Name) VALUES ('John')");
$affected = odbc_num_rows($result);

UPDATE

To retrieve updates:

$result = odbc_exec($cnx, "UPDATE Accounts SET Name = 'John' WHERE Name = 'MyAccount'");
$affected = odbc_num_rows($result);

DELETE

To delete updates:

$result = odbc_exec($cnx, "DELETE FROM Accounts WHERE AccountId = ''00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000''");
$affected = odbc_num_rows($result);
