Tableau Connector for Google Contacts

Build 20.0.7606

CData Tableau Connector for Google Contacts

Overview

The CData Tableau Connector for Google Contacts offers self-service integration with Tableau. The connector facilitates live access to GoogleContacts data in Tableau using the connection window. The connector also provides direct querying to visualize and analyze GoogleContacts data.

Note that you must have Tableau 2020.3 or greater installed as well as an up-to-date version of Java. For older versions of Tableau, the CData ODBC Driver for GoogleContacts or the CData JDBC Driver for GoogleContacts can serve as an alternative means of connecting to GoogleContacts data in Tableau.

Getting Started

See Getting Started for a guide to create a GoogleContacts Data Source in Tableau. The guide will walk you through Installing the Connector and then Configuring a Connection via the connection builder.

Once a connection has been configured, see Getting Data to set up a data source that offers live connectivity to GoogleContacts.

Using the Connector

See Using the Connector to customize data access and visualize data. You can further customize the exact GoogleContacts data pulled by Using Custom SQL Queries.

Refer to Visualizing Data to create and work with Tableau visualizations.

See Defining Custom Views to construct virtual tables whose contents are determined by a pre-configured query, which will then be discovered among existing table metadata.

Data Model

See Data Model for information on the available database objects and how to use SQL to work with GoogleContacts APIs. This section provides more detailed information on querying specific GoogleContacts entities.

Connection String Options
