CData Tableau Connector for Amazon DynamoDB
The CData Tableau Connector for Amazon DynamoDB offers self-service integration with Tableau. The connector facilitates live access to Amazon DynamoDB data in Tableau using the connection window. The connector also provides direct querying to visualize and analyze Amazon DynamoDB data.
Note that you must have Tableau 2020.3 or greater installed as well as an up-to-date version of Java. For older versions of Tableau, the CData ODBC Driver for Amazon DynamoDB or the CData JDBC Driver for Amazon DynamoDB can serve as an alternative means of connecting to Amazon DynamoDB data in Tableau.
See Getting Started for a guide to create a Amazon DynamoDB Data Source in Tableau. The guide will walk you through Installing the Connector and then Configuring a Connection via the connection builder.
Once a connection has been configured, see Getting Data to set up a data source that offers live connectivity to Amazon DynamoDB.
Using the Connector
Refer to Visualizing Data to create and work with Tableau visualizations.
See Defining Custom Views to construct virtual tables whose contents are determined by a pre-configured query, which will then be discovered among existing table metadata.
See NoSQL Database for information on the available database objects and how to use SQL to work with Amazon DynamoDB APIs. This section provides more detailed information on querying specific Amazon DynamoDB entities.
