You can use sqlQuery method to execute data modification statements.

INSERT

To insert updates:

sqlQuery("INSERT INTO [publicdata].[samples].github_nested(repository.name) VALUES ('CoreCLR')")

UPDATE

To retrieve updates:

sqlQuery("UPDATE [publicdata].[samples].github_nested SET repository.name = 'CoreCLR' WHERE repository.name = 'EntityFramework'")
