The following sections show the request, response, and schema for the following parameterized statement:

INSERT INTO [publicdata.samples.github_nested] (repository.name) VALUES (@repository.name)

Mapping the Insert Schema to the Request and Response

An INSERT schema for a solicit-response port contains sections for input parameters and the response. Solicit-response send ports can return the rows affected by an insert and the Ids for the new records.

Schemas for a one-way send port have the same request section, so the request is the same; however, there is no response section so a one-way send port does not return the affected rows. Also, one-way send ports do not return new record Ids.
