JDBC Driver for Sage 50 UK

Build 22.0.8462

Connecting from Code

This section describes how to connect with the JDBC DriverManager or Sage50UKDataSource interfaces.

Connecting with the DriverManager

When connecting with the DriverManager class, the CData JDBC Driver for Sage 50 UK follows the JDBC convention: First, load the Sage50UK driver class. Then, make a connection.

Load the Driver

The following step is optional per the JDBC 4.0 specification.
Class.forName("cdata.jdbc.sage50uk.Sage50UKDriver");

Establish a Connection

Provide the connection string with the getConnection method of the static DriverManager class. Start the connection string with "jdbc:sage50uk:". A typical connection string is the following:

Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:sage50uk:URL=http://localhost:5493/sdata/accounts50/GCRM/{C4C863BE-B098-4A7D-A78B-D7A92B8ADB59};User=Manager;Password=xxxxxx;");
Alternatively, you can prepare the connection options using a Properties object. Pass the Properties object to the DriverManager.
Properties prop = new Properties();
prop.setProperty("URL","http://localhost:5493/sdata/accounts50/GCRM/{C4C863BE-B098-4A7D-A78B-D7A92B8ADB59}");
prop.setProperty("User","Manager");
prop.setProperty("Password","xxxxxx");

Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:sage50uk:",prop);

Connecting with the Sage50UKDataSource Class

You can use the Sage50UKDataSource class to create pooled connections, as shown in the following example. See Connection Pooling for more information.

The following example instantiates a pooled Connection object:

Sage50UKDataSource ds = new Sage50UKDataSource("jdbc:sage50uk:UseConnectionPooling=true;URL=http://localhost:5493/sdata/accounts50/GCRM/{C4C863BE-B098-4A7D-A78B-D7A92B8ADB59};User=Manager;Password=xxxxxx;");
Connection conn = ds.getConnection();
